El concierto interrumpido is inspired by Federico Garcia Lorca’s poem by the same name and by Luis Buñuel avan-garde film techniques. The abstract and somehow surreal character of the work features the piano as the soloist instrument of a concerto that is being constantly interrupted: melodies emerge only to be overpowered by the rest of the ensemble.
