About Territories, Andreia Pinto-Correia writes: “When I read Betty Shamieh’s play Territories, I was struck by the complexity of Alia’s character. I thought that the role of the “faceless woman” had great potential for development, and I challenged Betty to write additional text for it. The present Suite represents several of those key-moments, passages that somehow define this intriguing woman. The work is dedicated to the memory of my grandmother Aida who passed away while I was writing it.”
